Last nights "raid"
We were meant to have a Naxx 25 last night but unsurprisingly we didn't have enough guildies online. I can't say that was a shock to me but it was still disappointing.
As it turns out we did EoE Heroic and VoA Heroic, with friends and family. Went pretty smooth but not a single item of tank gear dropped. On the plus side I gathered enough badges to buy this cloak: I was starting to get embarrassed by my old blue one.
We've got another 25 man...

Naxx 25
Last night (well a couple of nights ago now) our guild did it's first Naxx 25 run. Well, by first I actually mean the first non guild link run i.e. only Sacred Knights. We did surprisingly well in my opinion, clearing the Spider wing and the XXXX wing. It's even better when you consider that some of the group hadn't even been to Naxx before and that our highest dps averaged about 3.5K over the course of the night.
I was tanking, MTing most of the bosses, which was more fun than I expected it...

I want out - they pull me back in!
Yes, to quote the Godfather 3, I'm back to tanking. We did a Naxx 10 last night and despite my previous protestations I had to tank! I have to say that I much prefer DPS at the moment. Tanking is too much hassle and the playstyle is a lot more complicated. I made a few mistakes, oops, especially on Thaddius. Saying that though, the dps of the group was very low (only two over 2.0K dps) and a lot of the people hadn't done the bosses before.
On the plus side the guild bank payed for the respec ...

L33t dpsz0r
I had my first raid last night as Fury dps - 10 man Naxx. Having been hitting about 1.9K dps in pug heroics I had expected my damage output to be higher in the raid (more buffs etc) and it was but not by much. My average over the course of the run was about 2.1K - this was lower than I expected. I don't know if it was because of the Deep Wounds "nerf" or for some other reason but suffice to say it was less than I expected.
Another issue I has was dying! I died more than anyone else in the rai...

Tanks for the memories
So, after playing a "tank" (Prot Warrior to be exact) for the last few years, I've given up and respecced "fury". I still enjoy tanking as much as I ever did but in my guild there seem to be more and more tanks, many of whom have A LOT more time than me to raid. My guild dont seem to really care that I've been tanking for them for years and that I have a lot more skill than these Johnny Come Latelys so respecc it was for me. To be fair tho, they (the guild) need tanks who can dedicate more time ...

Gruuls Lair
Gruuls Lair
At last, we did Gruuls Lair again last night and at last these dropped. Seems like I've been waiting forever for them. (Note the cool mouseover on the link)

Hydross Down!
Title says it all really. Last night, on our third or fourth attempt, we got Hydross (SSC) down. I don't think we did anything particularly different, just did what we had been doing better. From a personal point of view I had made sure that my Nature Resistance hit 295, which meant with the hunter aura I hit the 365 cap. I think this made quite a bit of difference as it meant I resisted more - the downside being of course that I ate a few crits. I had even bought some Nature Resistance potions ...

Ich bin ein ninja
Yes, you read it right folks, I'm a ninja - it's official. We were in Kara last night, on our way to a full clear, and had just downed Illhoof. The fight had taken a bit longer than usual and I'd been spamming a few more skills than normal (thunderclap, demo shout, cleave) in order to try and hold onto a few imps - we were missing a lock.
Anyway the fight finishes and the loot is done. He dropped the tanking cloak, which I needed though not that badly, and I just clicked need! I didn't pass. ...

Serpentshrine Cavern
So my guild, Sacred Knights, tried Serpentshrine Cavern for the first time last night.
We easily cleared the trash up to "Hydross the Unstable"; the large "bog overlords" being particularly fun. One change to my normal gamestyle here was that I was intercepting to get up close and personal with my target fast, changing to def stance during the intercept. I've sometimes used this tactic before but I think I'll use it more often when working in large groups with other tanks: it helps to iron o...

World of Warcraft
So about four months ago I stopped playing World of Warcraft (WoW), typical raid burnout I guess. I was raiding three or maybe four times a week spending about four hours on each raid not to mention the time it takes to get all the money/mats sorted out for the raid i.e. pots, repairs, reading up on strategies etc. This is all the stranger when you consider that Sacred Knights (SK) is a social Guild, in other words NOT a raid Guild. I suspect however that for the raiders in the Guild it IS a rai...

Ding! - Gratz
After months of playing I eventually got my main character in World of Warcraft, Quizoth, to the giddy heights of level 60 - cue clapping and cheering. The odd thing is that since I reached level 60 I haven't played the game. I was obviously aware that when you hit 60 the aim of the game changes from levelling up to gathering better and better gear - this came as no surprise to me. Therefore, I'm not sure why I've lost my enthusiasm for it. Maybe it's because the games objectives are a lot less ...
