Counter-Strike: Source
Got a copy of Counter-Strike: Source - woo hoo! It's built on the Half-Life 2 engine which means improved graphics, sound and physics. I've included some screenshots for you to have a look at. The most striking differences I've noticed are in the physics: almost everything you see reacts to getting shot at, moves etc and obviously the graphics: the water effects are gorgeous and in the tunnel in de_dust you can see dust floating down through shafts of light etc - most impressive. I thought my sy...

Counter-Strike - "Condition Zero"
After much humming hawing and defying the perceived wisdom of the Counter-Strike community I got myself a copy of "Condition Zero" - £15 from Amazon. I have to admit that I do like it. Improved graphics, more player skins, more maps and some of the existing maps have changed a bit i.e. they have new "routes" in them etc etc. All of the existing maps have been tarted up and *I* think that this alone is worth the money - I'm sure the afficionados will disagree but hey ho.

Galactic Battlefields
Downloaded and installed the Galactic Battlefields mod for BF1942. At first I thought it was f**ked but after reading the manual I realised it was an online mod only. So I fired up the multiplayer, looked for the GC servers and jacked in. It's pretty cool; I was playing the Hoth map as Empire so you got to use Scout Walkers etc etc. Some of it feels a bit "unfinished" but I'll definitely play it again. The only real problem is that, last night anyway, I could only find about a dozen GC servers -...

Battlefield 1942 rocks!!
I've been playing quite a bit of BattleField 1942 recently. God knows why I didn't play it more online - I think 'cos I was running the vanilla 1.0 version. Anyway, I upgraded to v1.6 and it's ace. I've also installed the "Desert Combat" mod which is basically set in modern day Iraq/Middle East; means you get to smoke hundreds of "ragheads" from your Abrahams or Apache etc etc - sweet. The quality is good enough that they could easily sell it retail but hey ho, who am I to complain? So, if you'v...

Your helicopter fall from the sky like broken bird GI
As you may have guessed from the title of this post I've been playing quite a lot of Battlefield Vietnam. I must say, the improvement the new graphics card has made has been pretty good (my favourite adjective "pretty").
Off to Blackpool tommorow morning - yee haw. Gonna get me a "Kiss me quick" hat and a bag of chips.
Too stoned......

Real Elite Killers
I've got a tryout tonight for a Counter-Strike clan: Real Elite Killers. I dunno how good they are, what I'm expected to do etc etc so it looks doomed to failure. You never know though, I've played on a lot of public servers and scored better than clan members so hope springs eternal.

Back in the saddle again
Back at work after a glorious two weeks of Oracle training. I of course walked into the obligitory 1000+ emails but hey ho. I don't know exactly what was in the water earlier on in the day but I said some stuff to some people/person that I've been meaning to say for an age. It felt good at the time but now I ain't too sure; I hope it's not one of those ideas thats seems worse and worse with each passing second which I have to admit at the moment it is - yoikks! I have my appraisal on Wednesday o...

Title Missing
I had posted an entry before this one but as usual the server decided to spit the dummy on submission and I hadn't bothered to copy the post - something which I will do from now on!
I got loan of The Sims and have been playing that a bit recently - sad I know. It's actually a bit too realistic, all I seem to do is go to work, tidy the house, eat and sleep. No change there then.
Went to the football on Saturday, arrived ten minutes and managed to miss all the goals!

The bomb has been planted....has the magic gone?
Was playing Counter-Strike last night with David (Mr Moog) but like a noob. Took me a full magazine to shoot a guy in the back plus for some curious reason instead of shooting peeps I was throwing my "weapons" at them - nice.
