The third leg of the Honeymoon saw us arrive in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada.
Outside the entrance to our hotel; the Luxor.
Outside the Luxor. The sphynx is a life size replica and the hotel itself is the same size as the great pyramid.
The main entrance to the Luxor.
Jackie at the entrance to the Luxor.
A temple dog guards the entrance to the Luxor.
In the foyez of the Luxor
More of the foyez
Egyptian theme abounds inside the Luxor
I don't fancy yours much!
Jackie posing in front of one of the statues in the Luxor.
Inside the "mall" in the Luxor.
Our room in the Luxor was upgraded to a sweet suite.
The bedroom in the suite or as I like to call it: The magic room!
Can you guess outside which hotel this photo op is from?
The MGM Grande. The worlds largest hotel.
One of the massive golden lions outside the MGM Grand.
Inside the MGM Grand. Can you guess what is happening here?
They have a lion house in the MGM with a glass "tunnel" you can go through. The lions sleep on top of it!
More detail of the lion enclosure inside the MGM Grand. Suffice to say Jackie loved this.
Allegedly the lions are "reasonably" tame but I saw them giving this dude, a keeper, a pretty good chew later on.
New York, New York during the day. Note the roller-coaster which Jackie was too scared to go on.
I was suckered into this pic tho' I do have to say it was the classiest Indian I've ever been to - excellent
New York, New York at night. I like the streaks from the car headlights.
The Excalibur at night. This was the medieval themed hotel.
Jackie posing inside the Excalibur. Suffice to say this was a popular spot to get your photo taken.
The famousTropicana looks a bit jaded these days.
The view from the strip onto Paris.
More of the strip at night.
The Bellagio; where "Oceans Eleven" was set.
The fountains outside the Bellagio move in time with the music which plays.
We were lucky to get a spot at the front for the fountain display at the Bellagio.
Although it may seem a bit cheesy the fountain show at the Bellagio is well worth seeing.
Looking from infront of the Bellagio over to Caesars Palace.
I'm pretty sure this isn't the original standing infront of Caesars Palace.
A life size replica of the statue of David stands at the entrance to Caesars palace.
The "original" strip in Las Vegas: Freemont Street.
Freemont Street. For years it was run down and forgotten but now it's bustling all the time.
Neon abounds in Freemont Street.
Freemont Street is now a pleasant, pedestrianised area.
Freemont Street was more like the Las Vegas I expected to see.
Inside the helicopter, enroute to the Grand Canyon.
An ariel view of the might Hoover Dam.
The Colarado river is kept in check by the Hoover Dam.
A shot from inside the "chopper" on the way to the Grand Canyon.
I wonder why this is called Red Rock Canyon?
Just about to drop into the Grand Canyon.
Our first view into the Grand Canyon. Didn't expect to see as much green near the river - dunno why.
The Grand Canyon.
We landed for a "champagne lunch" inside the Grand Canyon. That's where I spotted this "interesting" (well to me) cactus.
I know it should be obvious but there were cactii everywhere on the floor of the Canyon. Something to do with it being in the desert I guess!
Me and the missus in the Grand Canyon.
The view from the spot where we had lunch in the Grand Canyon.
The light in the canyon played tricks with your eyes (and the light meter on the camera)
Seeing the strata in the rock makes you realise the enormous amount of time it must have taken to create the Canyon.
The mighty Colorado river meanders it's way through the Grand Canyon.
On the return helicopter flight from the Grand Canyon we flew over the strip.
A view of the Las Vegas strip from inside the helicopter.
It's hard to fathom that without the Hoover Dam Las Vegas would still be desert.
Heading down the strip towards the Luxor.
A nice shot of the Luxor from the air.
